Residents in central Fairfax County might have felt their house shake a bit this afternoon.
The U.S. Geological Survey says a small earthquake-- registering 1.8 on the Richter scale -- was recorded about a mile from Annandale.
There have been no reports of damage or injuries.
The earthquake occurred at 1:30 p.m. It's classified as a microquake, meaning it's not commonly felt by the general public. But several people called The Washington Post and police and fire departments asking about the tremors. |
