| Here is what I would like Clinton to do:
I would like her to continue in the race without attacking Obama, so that people can continue to be energized in the remaining States.
At the end of the process, I would like her to concede the primary and whole-heartedly embrace the Obama platform of "a new kind of politics". I would like her to explicitly state that she tried the "old kind of politics" during the primary and it didn't work, and that she was finally adopting the "new kind of politics".
I would like Obama to shower praise on Hillary and acknowledge that her presence in the race taught him a thing or two. At this point I would like Obama to offer her the Vice Presidency spot, and I would like to see her accept it.
That ticket would be unbeatable in the fall. |

| "Why is it assumed that Obama cannot win the general election but Clinton could?"
Republicans keep saying this because they believe the opposite is true. |

| Keep in mind that most of the media had Hillary crowned as the presumptive nominee about 2 years ago. She has been the inevitable media darling ever since.
There is a lot of egg on the faces of some of these sources! |

| "If nominated, Obama cannot win the general election. Clinton can win it. She knows that and so do the superdelegates. Unless Hillary Clinton actually runs out of money (from whatever source), I don't see her quitting any time soon."
Razorsharp, how do you figure? For the last couple of month, most polls have suggested that Hillary would lose against McCain whereas Obama would beat McCain. There was a period of 10 days or so recently when HRC seemed to have the edge, but things seem to be moving back in favor of Obama. |

| I have a question: have you all heard the comments in the last couple of days (may be longer but that's when I became aware) by Clinton loyalists about an "October surprise" for Obama? Do you think they know something? |

| "The only person in the world who can unite the Republican party behind John McCain is Hillary Clinton."
Not if he keeps pandering to la Raza. |

| They may be accurately predicting that the slime machine will make something up as the general election approaches. |

| If they did, they would expose him before the republican do when it is too late. This sounds like a cheap scare tactic. |

| Maybe the "October surprise" is that Obama dressed up as Satan for a Halloween party when he was six.... |

| I don't doubt that there will be a "Swift boat"-style attack late in the general. But that's true no matter who the Democrats nominate, and Obama has shown over the last couple of months that he can keep his cool during a tornado of negative coverage. |

| The "October Surprise" is the exact reason I will not vote for Clinton. |

The slime machine is on the left. Ickes, Begala, et al. if they smear him in time for the general, then we can all agree that Hillary is setting him up to lose. I don't think any of you have anything to worry about from McCain. He's not a smear-merchant, and he's going to take it on the chin from the hard right. |

| Oh, is there anything the Clinton loyalists would not say to prolong the inevitable? Their stack of african pictures and racial/religious dirt is running out. They are just yapping to confuse the Super Delegates Ickes is finding hard to round-up for a campaign in a complete downward spiral.
There won't be a surprise in October (nor November.) |
