Sure! The only difference is that the XL beds are longer. So if a regular twin comforter works for your kid on a regular twin bed, he/she can just sleep a little lower down from the top of the bed.

But you will need the XL sheets, especially the fitted one.

Does anyone know when BBB and similar stores bring out their college things?

It's gotta be soon. I remember shopping for college things in late August/September one year and was told that the season was over.

bedbathandbeyond.com has a "Shop for College" section that you can shop from now.

Actually, for both of my kids at college, we bought the XL sheet set, and the full-size comforter, because the twin comforters are ridiculously narrow, and your arms and legs keep poking out and getting cold!! plus it makes bed-making simpler.

That's what I did for both of my kids' rooms before they went to college and for my D at college. I like the more finished look of a bigger quilt. My S, though, is going across the country, and since he sleeps hot, we're just sending a couple of blankets instead of a quilt. He can throw the blankets in the washing machine when necessary -- that's always more difficult with a quilt. And they will pack much smaller in baggage. If he needs more warmth, I'll be happy to send him more stuff later.

Our Linens N Things has a Memorial Day coupon for 20% off your entire purchase. It was in the Sunday ads.

Linens N Things filed for bankrupcy a few weeks ago. They should be having some incredible sales, I would think.

Anyone every buy the college dorm linens from here?

Was thinking of having a value pack delivered straight to dorm. What do other CCers think?

Looks interesting (and reasonable)...just curious about quality of linens (stiffness??) but with guarantee, looks good....

According to their FAQ's, though, they only ship home, NJ_mother......

Thanks Rodney. Washing with fabric softener can do wonders. Maybe better if they come home for a wash first, eh?

We just ordered one of the value packs. D was so excited she offered to pay for half of it. Do wonder what a bedside buddy is. Anyone know?

I think it's something that you can put under your mattress with the pockets hanging out down the side to put stuff in.
