Do you remember
Telling them to pick up socks?
When will they grow up?

Saying "pick up socks?"
Oh yeah, sure I remember.
Happened last Friday.

(just kidding, geek_son --
I know you did your laundry --
credit where it's due. )

Trail of socks, always.
In your case, Mrs. Weasley,
can't Ron use his wand?

HMW:

Ron's wand was broken
Once--dang he missed getting the
Hang of cleaning socks!

Some kids! They can help
Defeat evil Voldemort
But can't pick up socks.

Remember to check
Again I say your midyear report
The schools must have it

No acknowledgement
He no doubt thinks it's all done
Senior year's happening

Thank goodness his grades
Have left no room for complaint
So inform the schools!

Cold, rainy Monday.
I spent it in the kitchen --
my day off from work.

Cleaning and cooking,
meatloaf, scalloped potatoes,
just right for today.

Not shy at the stove,
I made up the recipes
as I went along.

It smells delicious!
(If I may say so myself )
Tasty masterpiece.

Add some vegetables,
broccoli, roast asparagus,
piece de resistance.

When he's wolfed it down,
geek_son will tell me, "Thanks, Mom --
Dinner didn't suck!"

(with apologies to the authors of Zits comics. )

The boy loves his dog.
(He never had a sibling)
Unselfconscious joy.

End of ev'ry term-
A rollicking reunion
Makes all of us smile.

Thank you to the OP - this is fun! We do this on our blackberries when we are bored in meetings at work...

She applied to ten
How crazy everyone thought
Now...tough decision!

Dog hair clings mercilessly

I think in Haikus
mundane tasks become poems
cook, clean, shower, write!
