One and Two, all set.
Thank God we have ten more years
Before it's Three's turn!

Your nests are empty.
Mine's still full of Lunchables*,
playdates and carpools.

*I hate them, but they're like the Tamagotchis of my first-grader's school. I have to cave now and then.

High school: a tunnel
Winds up a gentle hillside,
Leads to a new place.

Freshman year was so
Carefree, blissful, ignorant
Before SAT's.

Do I measure up?
Teenagers hope and wonder,
posting "Chance Me" threads.

ECs and essays,
Application deadline nears.
Mom, just let me sleep!

April approaches.
College Confidential is
both stress and release.

Early Decision.
Accepted! But can't relax:
Midyear reports due.

Packing and moving...
Senior year, where have you gone?
Flown my empty nest.

Time goes by quickly.
They're here and then gone so soon,
Our new life starts now

National Merit!
Difficult but happy choice:
Tier 1, or free ride?

And one for ShesOnHerWay, http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/...72-post28.html
Financial Aid says:
"You'll have to find a cheaper school."
We pay sticker price.

Applications done,
Now he plays video games.
Senioritis strikes!

Hey, Miss Counselor,
You had the forms months ago!
What about my recs?

The pressure's still on!
Hundredth points will determine
Valedictorian.

Everyone should pick
Cheaper, less prestigious schools
Except for my kid!

Proud but anxious mom.
Second semester filled with
Bittersweet moments.

Last birthday at home.
Graduation approaches.
Where did the year go?

My baby can't go so far
Not your call my love

I don't want to go
only total losers stay
Why did I grow up?

My mom is a nag
I did all those stinking apps
Now scholarships are her gig

All the work of apps
Defining this child of mine
They don't deserve him

(These could make a book!
A thoughtful, but funny ride
I thought of it first!!)
