Half an hour to cook,
and five minutes to inhale.
Dinner is over.

Hooray, more haikus!
I can stall kitchen cleaning
a little longer.

To my son's first-choice college...

Harvey Mudd College,
I send you a brilliant gem.
Please, polish him well.

So many facets,
already he shines so bright.
But more waits in rough.

I know you'll agree,
once you've seen how he sparkles,
you're blessed to have him.

(I write this without
the merest hint of bias
or motherly pride. )

Oh... and you just might
want to add a little bit
to your food budget.

Nice one, lspf, but...

geek_son's home tonight.
The girl he might like to date
isn't allowed to.

Limited options...
college will be better grounds
than his small high school.

and the lovely boys at Mudd

Wouldn't it be cool
If the Mudd and Scripps people
Saw kids like we do?

Many Mudders say
Mudd's greatest attraction lies
one hundred feet south!

We will send wishes
for your Scripps-loving daughter
to be admitted.

geek_son's fate is sealed --
he's sent in his deposit
Early Decision.
