My air conditioning bill is non-existent this summer. It's nice to just leave the window open.

I guess it probably wouldn't help make it easier if I said it was a perfect day in the high 70s/low 80s here with the sun shining and has been almost every day (with a few bouts of marine-layer low-cloudiness in the morning right on the coast) for weeks/months and will continue to be for quite a while before it rains again around October/November so I guess I won't say anything. |

Thank you for reminding us how wonderful the San Diego weather is... I am just thankful for the sump pump we put in our basement six months ago and the riding tractor lawn mower. We've been mowing our lawn every other day since May. OH!!! Got to go, I see some sun!!!!

Thunder and rain has returned. Glad I went out and enjoyed a few minutes of sunshine.

D's and I are are finishing up a 5-day visit here at my mother's in Cape Cod.
The fact that I'm posting here on CC instead of biking, swimming, walking the flats, etc is an indication of the weather we've been having.... From the 4th on, it's supposed to be beautiful. Tomorrow is our last day here
Usually I'm whining that it's TOO sunny or hot!

Marite - we had the most unusual mushrooms pop up in our yard. There are dozens of them, they sort of look like carrots. I have never seen anything like them before. A couple of weeks ago when they first appeared I thought someone HAD put carrots in our flower bed.
Actually, it is sunny here in PA at this moment, but it is not going to last.

I will pray some of our abundant sunshine your way... please tell your rainclouds to hold it until they blow southwest!
The continental US is a gorgeous place, on average. |

It's pouring outside (Connecticut) as I write this. It has been raining on and off for weeks with very few sunny days. It does make everything beautifully green, but it hasn't been much of a summer so far. I feel like I'm living in Seattle -- enough already.

I work at a beach and it has been deserted. The upside of this is I'm essentially getting paid to play cards.

Well, we did save on air conditioning this year, but fixing the basement is going to eat up an of those savings and then some. Can't win.
It rained lightly here today, and was actually pretty. It was sunny, little or no breeze and the rain fell straight down with the sun glistening through the rain lines.
If it weren't for my basement, I wouldn't mind the rain.

We are at our "camp" (Mainers know what that is) - unpaved road. I am waiting for the day - any minute now - when we are marooned here with all tires spinning in the mud. I need hip boots just to walk to the car. Here at camp, we hang clothes out to dry, lol (washing machine, but no dryer). Needless to say, that is a non-starter. Any money we might save on AC (if we had it) will be spent on buying enough underwear to last for 40 days and 40 nights.

Our CT yard is full of terrifying fungi---one type that looks like a mushroom with a glandular problem, another yellowish kind that I can't even begin to describe. As soon as things dry out a bit, I've got to go dig them up so the exceptionally dumb dog won't snack on them. Winter is looking pretty good from here.
