"Nosferatu" 1922 and "Shadow of the Vampire"2000

The original Nosferatu is VERY creepy. Fun to watch and similarly creepy is "Shadow of the Vampire" which has a story that revolves around the 1922 production of Nosferatu. Willem Dafoe as Nosferatu and John Malkovich as FW Murnau are hilarious. But is doesn't really work unless you have seen the 1922 Nosferatu first.

Just a note re: "The Haunting of Hill House".
The 1963 movie is titles "The Haunting" (dir Robert Wise) and is based on the Shirley Jackson book "The Haunting of Hill House". I believe that sometimes it is issued on television and DVD as the "Haunting of Hill House". A personal favorite and not to be missed. Do not waste your time on the 2000 remake/

I think the scariest movie I ever saw was" the Exorcist " .everything else pales in comparison.

I remember all of the chatter about " the Blair Witch Project" , which I thought was just silly and stupid ( with a lot of f-bombs )

Anyone remember these TV movies from the 70's?
Crowhaven Farm
and The Dark Secret of Harvest Home
Sure gave me the creeps back then. For some odd reason (probably a time-waster while teachers were having meetings), we were shown Crowhaven Farm at school (6th/7th grade).
I had nightmares for weeks.
I hate to be scared and I'm really sensitive to scary movies--I never go to them. I was scared by Lord of the Rings (the first of the series--I never read the books and didn't know what was going to happen. . .) and Slumdog Millionaire (my heart was racing for hours after). Laugh if you want.
One movie that truly disturbed me was The Virgin Spring (Bergman). Don't watch it. You'll be sorry.
