You have internet explorer as your browser. Do you have the menu bar, it would show File, Edit, View, Tools, Fovorites

No, everything is gone, all I see is the web page I am on. If I run my cursor across the top, I can get to other things, open a new tab, favorites, etc.

Do you see View? If you do, click on it and you'll Toolbars, click on that, then you see Menu Bar, check it (click it).

GA2012MOM: You should consider getting Mozilla-Firefox. You can down load for FREE at
Once you install, it will ask you to import your bookmarks.

Problem solved. Oldfort, no, there was no view, but I found "tools" which had a munu bar on it. Thanks.
Simba, thanks, I will look into it. What are the advantages of Firefox? I know my D's macbook pro has it but I don't know anything about it.

If the netbook is short on RAM, then Google Chrome might be a better choice.
Both Chrome and Firefox tend to run faster and use less RAM. Firefox's advantage is add-ons, such as Ad Block Plus, that can make surfing the web easier. Too many add-ons can slow it down though. Chrome is the lightest and uses the least RAM.

I use firefox, but there must be an IE equivalent. When I press the F11 key at the top row of the computer keyboard, I can make the toolbar disappear and re-appear.

Good luck picking a browser-I also recommend firefox!

I don't know what has been up with Firefox over the last few months but it is continually crashing for me. The nice thing is that it restores my previous screens but the crashing reminds me of Internet Explorer.
