A guy I was contracting with was also hired back by his previous employer two weeks ago (they called him when someone else retired, and even gave him a raise!). Got me thinking that maintaining contact with folks at the old job is even more essential than I ever thought about. Even if you are more expensive than a paid resource, they don't have to train you up!

No "grind" about it, it was always a part time job (a well paying one at that) and because I adore the job and the people I work with (more like family...not MY family...but a GREAT family!) it was never "work". So it's 3 days a week, and I still have plenty of time for the three of us (me, myself and I).

This was a "job" I scored 3 years after retiring and 5 days after my kid started college. Timing has always been spot on with this one!

Well, "Just" a mom, get yourself over to the dressing young thread with that new body - and Lafalum - I was drinking something when I read your post and it went up my nose!

It's a casual artistic office, I mostly wear dark washed jeans (or black), a sweater of some type and boots/clogs in the winter, or a cool top and same jeans in spring/summer. I like the new sweaters this year, quite the bohemian look. Works well for our "vibe".

Congrats! Now, can you compile the stories in a book, get it published, and end up an Oprah's Book Club selection? Wouldn't that be an awesome ending!

2VU0609 - my sister-in-law is a published author, and she has asked me to pick 5 of my favorite stories that she will pass to her publisher...we shall see. Interestingly enough I have been saying (for well over 35 years), "I want to tell stories" when someone asks "so what do you want to be when you grow up?". Now to decide which ones to pick.

What?! Another person got a job! Maybe this jobless recovery is turning into a job-full recovery at last?
