| Trick or Treat! What are you passing out?
We will get somewhere in the neighborhood of 150 ish kids at our house. I bought the megabig chocolate assortment bags from Costco - will give out a couple to each kid. Usually let them "pick two" themselves.
The one thing that irks me most? When kids ask if they can have more than two.
I often pass out the mini Halloween micro popcorn or the candy apple suckers, but couldn't find them this year.

We haven't bought our candy yet because if it's in the house, I'll eat it. Dh is about to run to the store and pick it up.

Twizzlers. Why? Because I won't eat them. I have no willpower and cannot be trusted around chocolate.

Got a couple of large bags at Target. I'm passing out the mini snickers, milky ways, hershey bars and milk duds. The mini heath bars are just for me!

We get very few trick or treaters - they figured out that in our neighborhood of homes on acreage, Halloween candy density is very low. Too much legwork to get a few pieces. So I did not get any cheap cr@p, but if someone shows up, I will be giving out Lindor truffles and my European chocolates.

Due to topography, we get very few trick or treaters. If kids manage to make it to our front door, we reward them with the full size candy bars. Then I get the leftovers out of the house by sending them to the office with DH.

We get only the six neighbor kids (rural area...small neighborhood). Each will get a full size packet of Skittles, M and Ms, and four twizzlers. Also have some fruit snacks. They can have as many of those as they want.
Of course I would LOVE to give out Reeses...but I would eat them before they hit the kids' Halloween bags!!

I'll be passing out the Costco candy I bought, if I don't eat it all myself this afternoon.
I got the (2) bags of 150 snack size chocolate products (M&M's, Kit Kats, Snickers, Crunch Bars, Almond Joys, and Reeces' Peanut Butter Cups) for $13.99/each. I only give out one per person.
I hate it when they ask for 2 and always refuse. I've heard "My baby sister is in the car", "My brother can't walk up the driveway", and "My friend is sick and couldn't come tonight." One of my neighbors suggested we all refuse these requests.

BunsenBurner,
If you give me directions, which I promise not to share , I'll walk the last mile for the truffles and European chocolates. |

Toledo, yep that's what I bought. I don't mind giving out 2, cause I have two bags (300 pieces all together) and so I can manage to give two. But, yeah, as I said, HATE when kids ask for more or have even had some kids try to grab a handful.
Who wears a costume while passing out (the candy, that is...)??? I just usually wear a halloween shirt- like the same one I pull out every Halloween for the past 18 years....
I often have hot cider to pass out to the parents I know who stop by...that goes over pretty well.

We're handing out about $100 worth of assorted candies. For those who have had their fill of sweets, we're offering the option of small bags of chips (potato chips, fritos, doritos, and cheetos).

Kit kats and Reese's.
D decided we will not offer the kids a choice. If we do, they'll stand there all night trying to decide. So, since she is home with swine flu, I let her decide that the kit kats will go first. That way if there are any left overs, they'll all be Reese's, her favorite.

Kit Kats and tootsie rolls (D's request). Haven't opened the bags yet because, well, you know why!

Bunsen we are like you, all the homes in our neighborhood sit on 10 acres, so we do the same as you, except I still buy the small sizes, but basically give 2 heaping handfuls to each kid. We only have 20 homes in our neighborhood, but it seems like that we all do this so the kids still get a lot of candy.
I have for tonight, kit kats, snickers, milky ways, reese's pb cups and skittles. Bullet laughs at me because I bought 10 bags total...his reaction to that...what are you going to do give one bag per kid?
