| TMobile outage?
There was a nationwide outage of tMobile today, starting around 3 PM EST. Was anyone else affected by this?
I still don't have service. It has been around 8 hours. To say I am irritated would be a huge understatement.

I just spoke to our consultant on my T-Mobile phone about an hour ago. My phone had plenty of bars all day long... Hmmm... Have you tried turning your phone off and back on? I noticed that if I don't have reception for a while, the phone need an extra kick to start searching for signal.
I agree, T-Mobile quality went downhill lately. We used to have excellent reception at our house, but now it is spotty.

It was a nation wide thing. Yes, I've turned it on and off multiple times. Starting at 4, and then did it every 10 minutes until it finally came back on around 10 minutes ago. They claim that only 5% of their customers were affected by this, but I think their own forum may beg to differ judging by the wide range of reports coming in. We've got T-Mobile. I Never had a problem all day. But H said he tried calling me several times this evening, and kept getting the "all circuits are busy at this time" message---or something to that effect. I'm visiting relatives out of state, so we're not in the same area at this time. He was finally able to get through at around 8:30pm. D and I are geographically close right now, and never had any trouble calling one another all day.

Well I know pretty much all of Michigan and many parts of Ohio were down. Texas, Washington, Atlanta, all seemed to be down as well.
My network just went out again. I give up though now. I have been with tMobile for my entire cell phone life (nearly 8 years now) and I am seriously considering switching. It has just been problem after problem these last few months and it's a shame because I used to rave about the support and coverage I got from them.

I was getting a busy signal calling my son's phone. It sucked. I got an email from his college that a male Junior committed suicide in the library and then I wasn't able to get in touch with him all day. I finally checked his cell usage and was able to see that he had checked his voicemail after this incident took place. (and I assume the school would have called me if something awful had happened). Also my bf told me his t-mobile was screwed up and he didn't get my text msgs until hours after I sent them.
THIS IS WHY I WON"T GIVE UP MY LANDLINE (nor will I ever depend on VOIP service)

That explains why I couldn't reach my husband on his cellphone last night. He was able to make calls out but couldn't receive them. When I dialed his number I just got silence -- no ringing, no busy signal, no recording, nothing! We thought his phone was broken! I have AT&T so I didn't know there was a widespread problem.

We have t-mobile. I wasn't aware there was a problem. Two of my kids also have t-mobile - I wonder if they had issues. I haven't heard. They use their phones a lot more than we do.
We've discussed switching now and then, but T-mobile works best for us overseas, and it's cheapest, so we always ending up staying put.

I dialed my TMobile phone (because I forgot it at home) and it went through at 3:53pm.
From the data points here, I gather subscribers stayed connected to the mobile network but long distance incoming calls did not get routed in the infrastructure to the mobile base stations.
