Lafalum84 you can't change your name!!!!!
Well, instead of Lafalum86 (!!) I chose Rachacha in memory of my late friend who played for a popular party band in here in Western New York, he would always introduce himself as being from RA-CHA-CHAAAAAAA in the funniest way. I have lived here twenty years now and I will never quite get the accent, but my kids have it!!

Mine was tremendously unoriginal. First initial, middle initial, last name. I got married, so my last name has changed, and I've thought of changing my screenname, but then I'd lose my post count and all my "street cred." |

I too typed in a few other choices and all were taken.....I knew I wanted something that I would find easy to remember (logging in and all)..... I actually like mine..... I am here because I am a parent..... I love lots of data sources and CC definitely provided that... and adding the Maine prefix would boost my image, was the hope!! After our most recent election, not so much.....
I have enjoyed many of the names.... had one Roseann Roseannadanna moment with QuiltGuru's a few years ago....I read it as Guilt, not Quilt....and I used to speculate that someone was good at counseling .... I think Curmudgeon is my favorite, especially with all the adorable nicknames for his daughter....

Was an anxious mom about the whole college admissions and paying for college thing when dd was a junior in high school (back in 2002) Came on board here and stayed through DD's college career and DS's college career (he's now a college junior!!!!). Still slightly anxious, since that's who I am - but CC was invaluable through the whole process. (and great for finding out what kind of vacuum cleaner to buy, where to stay at the Grand Canyon, and how to shop for health insurance, etc.)
Edit - my join date is '04 since I came onboard before the great conversion...

maineparent's post reminded me that one of the students misread "vicariousparent" as "viciousparent" (which vicariousparent is not!) |

^I've done that a few times, I'll admit. I always do a double take with vicariousparent.

This is my second name. (First too identifiable.) I just like the two words together: 'gray' and 'mouse'. I don't know why. (But I do like gray mice!)

Wharfrat is one of my favorite GD songs. The first board I tried to sign up for already had a wharfrat. I thought but I want to be wharfrat too.

Scipio was a general in the Roman republic - the guy who finally took down Hannibal. He was well-known in his day but largely forgotten now, having been eclipsed by more famous guys who came later - like Pompey, J. Caesar, and the emperors.

My first name was also too identifying. I quickly picked a substitute because after all this college stuff, there will be one member of our family who will NOT take the SAT. She only will take the SIT test!

I'm an architect and a mom by profession. I have used this screen name on a number of forums through the years (check my tripadvisor reviews) and once here on CC, wanted to be clear that I was speaking as a parent. Most typically folks think my son's name is Archie or I'm a fan of comic books .
