Thanks, mamadubbs and cromette! We love rolling admission and Truman for being super fast with acceptance (applied on 9/25, transcript received on 10/3, acceptance letter dated 10/4)

| Daughter gets into Safety!
We applied to Montana State for their film program and we received a full acceptance package in the mail within 1 week with a small scholarship! This will be out of state and a big change for her, we live in San Diego My daughter is so excited because now she feels that there might be hope for some of her reach schools.

| First Acceptance
Our daughter was accepted into the Swanson School of Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh. She is also eligible for the University Honors College.
She submitted her application less than 2 weeks ago, so it was a pretty fast turn around.
Although we were certain she would be accepted at Pitt, it's still exciting to receive the first acceptance.

Congrats coral brook and flymetothemoon! My D received her acceptance letters very quickly too. I think applying before the rush helped. Peace of mind is a beautiful thing!!

| One and done...
Our daughter got her acceptance to Florida Atlantic University. She's completed an app for Georgia Southern and has half an application completed for FSU (it's the essay that's holding up the process . FAU was her first choice, so I'm thinking we are just going to be sending in her deposit soon!
Congratulations to all who have heard so far. There really is no adequate description for the feeling we parents get from this!

By my very rough count.....35 Daughters, 19 sons--so far. Very interesting
| I'll comment here instead of the thread this comment was posted on, since that thread is not for discussion.
I think what this indicates more than anything is the tendency for boys to procrastinate more than girls, so the girls have their applications in at a lot more colleges than boys do at this point.

I agree with FlyMeToTheMoon - my DD was wanting to send out college apps as soon as school started. I made her wait till her school counselors had a chance to review her essays and provide some additional guidance. All her close girlfriends have started applying while none of her guy friends have as of yet. I just don't think the guys stress as much over the details. Just my opinion |

Congrats to all! My D has received her academic acceptances to University of Oklahoma and Indiana University so far! But, she is also auditioning for ballet programs, so we still have to wait for those. She auditioned at OU last week and we are waiting on that letter. So stressed out!

| This is interesting. Even though my son is one of the 19 with an acceptance, he may not even enroll in college. He is leaning towards enlisting in the military and I'm trying my best to dissuade him.

Wow...got my son's first response today, accepted to the U of Tampa (they got his app on the 16th and sent out the acceptance on the 17th! He thinks that looks 'desperate'... LOL). It's not one of his top choices, but at least I know he'll definitely be in school next year (and with scholarship money too!)

Congratulations to all!! We are clipping along lately on this thread.
My D received her second academic acceptance today: Point Park University. While the academic acceptances are nice, I will be really, really over the moon when she gets that first theatre acceptance!!

D has already been accepted to UW Whitewater, but we received her letter yesterday stating she was accepted into their Honors Program. Yay! With the merit award they gave her, this school is looking like the front runner. |

D received her acceptance to the Ballet program at U of Oklahoma last Saturday! She started crying her eyes out with happiness. First college audition and acceptance in the books!
