| Graduation presents for friends
Graduation parties are big here. My senior is invited to some, and we have been invited to some as a family.
I appreciate suggestions as to what to buy for Senior males.
Thanks!

Last year, I went on the bookstore website of the school the student had decided to attend and bought them a gift card. It was a personalized gift, the kids seemed to really like it, and you can buy in any amount you want.

Great idea, Bridie.
Last year I gave my son's best friends each a snazzy new dustbuster in jazzy colors. Apparently they all really appreciated them; my son asked me in the fall if he could have one, too.

I gave S and his friends this book, which I learned about here on cc. They all really liked it. S and his best friend were leafing through it all during our celebration dinner out. The Naked Roommate: And 107 other issues you might run into in college http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/140...Fencoding=UTF8
Gave it to my niece, too.
I tucked into each copy this wallet card from the Sam Spady foundation: http://www.samspadyfoundation.org/cards.php |

college kids love gift cards to walmart... and gas cards.. and any type of fast food gift card as well... also money is good.. i'd say a nice duffel bag would be nice.. so many people pack to go on a vacation in their back pack because they don't have anything else..

there's another thread of inexpensive graduation gifts that has lots of ideas (5 pages worth!). I got my daughter's good guy friends a swiss army knife that has a flash drive on it from Target- just under $30

Not all colleges allow you access to the computer networks from all over campus. A flash drive is an easy way of taking files from one place to another. So if you started your term paper on a computer in the library and want to take it back to your room, you can just put it on the flash drive. Have to give a presentation in class? Build your power point, put it on your flash drive. Collaborating with a buddy in a computer lab? Whip out your flash drive, and there you go. Printer in your building broke down? Put the paper on your flash drive and take it someplace that keeps up with their printer maintenance. They're also great for backing up your hard drive.

I ordered flash drives with collegiate logos for a couple friends of my S. Haven't received them yet but you can get info at http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Category/category_slc.asp?Nav=|c:379||c:1996|

Hmm, I don't know if males will like this or not, but for the few grads I know of this year (they're girls though), we were thinking about getting LL Bean large tote bags. They are great for hauling stuff in and out of dorms - I've found mine invaluable for hauling stuff home on the weekends and stuff - yet they're not overwhelmingly girly. You could always go with one of the chosen college's colors too. |

| LL Bean tote bags
They're great because they're sturdy, not too expensive, and they last forever.
