Pittsburgh is quite generous with OOS scholarships. One is an honors tuition scholarship and is equal to the full OOS tuition. The extra perk is that there is no dollar amount attached to it. If the tuition goes up then so does the scholarship.

I had not heard that about Uminn. Interesting. Must want more OOS undergrads. That's a good price.

So Minn tuition is about 14K for most OOS and that appears to be good at their flagship campus (Twin Cities?) also?

University of Nebraska has a series of three "named" scholarships it gives to OOS students based on ACT or SAT and class rank, with award levels at 100%, 66% and 25% of the difference between in-state and OOS.

Thanks everyone. I know that Michigan has a 35% OOS population. Are they stingy with aids?

Interesting how Minnesota is doing tuition- current students with old rules, new with new ones. They are finally dealing with the annoying fact that Wis residents were paying less to go to Minn than their own residents (due to UW's lower tuition).

Public LAC U of MN - Morris charges OOS students at the same rate as state residents.

I agree with Bluejay. The University of Pittsburgh seems to give full-tuition scholarships to OOS kids with CR/M of 1450 and above. And room and board is pretty reasonable.

Regarding Univ of Pittsburgh. In addition to the full tuition honors scholarship mentioned above, for those OOS students with slightly lesser SAT scores, but (I believe) above 1350 CR/M, Pitt also offers a $10K scholarship which brings the tuition cost down to about the in-state cost.

Qualifying for In-State Tuition In-state Tuition Eligibility you are in a certain geographic area and are looking for academic programs that are not available at your state institutions, you may be eligible to participate in a tuition-exchange program. Partaking in this program means that you will be charged in-state tuition (even though you are not a state resident) or will be offered a reduced tuition rate. Regional tuition waiver programs include the Academic Common Market (Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia), the New England Regional Student Program (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont), the programs of the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming), and the Midwest Student Exchange Program (Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Wisconsin).
