Remorse

DS selected Willamette in Oregon over Lewis and Clark (also in Oregon) in a last minute rushed decision on April 30th.

At the time he was 1 month post major knee surgery and suffering from a major infection. He was not mentally completely there when he made the decision.

He is now recovered from the infection and is having serious regrets.

Given this background, what advise would you give him? Call Lewis and Clark Admissions and explain the situation? Would his financial aid package be lost? Other comments?

He must have found something to love about Willamette or it wouldn't have been in the running right?. If L and C says no dice then reassure your son that you will support him in transfering next year. He may find that WU is a good choice for him and decide to stay.

The upside--I've heard they are both great schools.

I agree call and ask- you might have your S send a heartfelt email and then have a parent call and refer to the e-mail. I am sure most will say have the student call but you can probably explain things better but the e-mail will have shown his personal investment. I would send it to a specific person and then call that same person so that it is not lost in the shuffel. AND these are small schools and will know who he is --etc. Good luck and let us know!
