Cool. Does this ad mean I can start looking for investors for my new business venture on cc? It's great. Hear me out- Garden Gnome Lingerie. The sexy brassieres, we'll call 'em "gnome domes". We'll make a bundle. It's not all fleshed out but I need a little seed money for some R+D . Call me. There's serious cash in cross-dressing yard art.

Ah, come on mods. This looks real goofy now. You could have at least left enough of the spam ad that used to be before my gnome post so I didn't look like THIS much of an idiot. LOL.

Mod or Mods -- the forum moderators. AKA "Big Brother."
AKA -- also known as

This was missing from the earlier University of California acronym list:

UCI -- University of California, Irvine
UCSF -- University of California, San Francisco (has no undergrad programs)

UW -- University of Washington (not "Wisconsin," which is just a bunch of beer-drinking dairy cows anyway)

UDub, or "the Dub" -- also University of Washington

I've been using IANAAO when I'm giving admissions advice so that readers know I'm not trying to pass myself off as a real expert -- I Am Not An Admissions Officer

California has three separate state college systems, which must be terribly confusing at first:

University of California (UC<city>): research-oriented, primary state doctorate schools

California State University (either CSU<city name> or Cal State <city name> or Cal Poly <city name>): teaching-focused, only offers a few doctorates

Community Colleges: billions and billions...

Wow Abhi- you must have a lot of free time on your hands-- now, can you alphabeitze the list?
One correction-- Connecticut college and Sarah Lawrence are not seven sisters schools. The seven sisters colleges are Barnard College, Bryn Mawr College, Mount Holyoke College, Radcliffe College, Smith College, Wellesley College, and Vassar College.

How about adding under "Board Related Abbreviations" this one: "PM" = "Private Message."

That one perplexed me for a while, having thought at first it had something to do with Peri- or Post-Menopausal.... oh, I know, TMI... which = too much information.
