Buyer beware:
"Expected Family Contribution" is a misnomer.
EFC = MFC
Minimum Family Contribution (MFC)
FM EFC only tells FAO what the federal aid eligibility is.
IM EFC is the "rest of the story" and varies from college to college.
BTW, when the FAO says they meet "100% of demonstrated need"
the definition of need is theirs...not yours.

(abbriviation required)-- someone who posts for sole purpose of getting (undeserved) sympathy from people. these people generally post their "problems", which range anywhere from rejection-letter to drunkardness. The "problems" are usually catchy, overblown out of propertion, and closer look can reveal that they are actually fake. Many people believe their lies and start giving genuene advice symphathise with them and sincerely try to help, only to find out later that OP is just trolling. I have ran into 2-3 threads of such kind.
term/abbriviation anyone?

WOW -- walks on water: the sort of applicant that is a shoe-in wherever they apply. Almost as rare as the actual ability these days -- my daughter knows one (accepted everywhere she applied: Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Brown, and others I've lost track of).
