No, PSU is a 'stats' school for admissions. The high school grade-point average (GPA) accounts for approximately two-thirds of the decision. The remaining one-third is based on other factors, which may include standardized test scores, class rank, personal statement and activities list.
Our high school doesn't use the 4.0 scale, it uses actual averages from your classes (ie: 95). How does this convert to the GPA in the chart? (4.0 scale)

My HS does the same thing. But they had a GPA conversion chart posted on the wall. It goes something like this.

I think these are okay stats. I had a 4.0/1100 and got into engineering for Fall. Your stats aren't fall off from mine. I think you have a decent shot if you're applying for general studies. Apply early though. I applied around early November (if that helps).
Like others said, PSU doesn't care about extracurriculars (unless you're recruited as an athlete). They get so many applications that they don't have time to look at ECs, recommendations from lots of teachers, etc.
They go strictly by the numbers, as was said in a previous post.
No point in stressing about it, just get your application in as early as possible and apply to other schools too. My S applied in late August and did not even write the optional essay.
anyone got into PSU with relatively bad score of SAT?
I got into engineering (fall admission) with 1100 or 1660, and one section was in the 300's. Is that bad enough? The SAT is such a bad indicator, and I'm glad PSU knows that. Despite my 300, I ended my first year with 3.86.
