Do they look at the Final Transcripts?

I'm just wondering if Penn State looks at the final transcripts or if they only look for a proof of graduation.

They do look at final transcripts and have on occasion rescinded an offer of admission based upon them. Not sure if the students failed to graduate because of their poor performance final semester or simply did so poorly PSU didn't want them anymore.

Your guidance counselor would of sent a transcript at the end of the year without you knowing. It is standard protocol to do so from what I have been told.

And as long as you don't bomb several of the major subjects (ie: English + a Math or Some Science) then you should be fine. Really though, your almost through it, I know it can be hard now in your senior year, but just buckle down and get your work done.

My kids' high school specifically told us that if their college required a final transcript, we would need to send a form in to the guidance department requesting it to be sent and pay the $4 fee. Since PSU did not say this was required on the app., we never requested it and I assume that the guidance department did not send it. D is a senior and S is a freshman at PSU.

Wow, then I guess it varies from school to school. My HS never charges to send out transcripts. They just send them out for all the seniors.

Thank you for your responses everyone! =) And yeah, for our school, we don't need to pay a fee but we do need to prepare the envelopes with the required stamps and give them to our counselors first. At least that's what we had to do for our midyear reports. I can't confirm if it's the same for final transcripts though.

my counselor said they just called for verification that you graduated. didn't say anything about a transcript. however, i think as you keep it above like above a 3.3 or something, you're fine. just don't completely slack off
