Do you get better chance in admission if you apply for summer

I'm not quite sure the purpose of applying for summer not fall.
You can still take classes even if you are admitted for fall right? And I've heard some people getting accepted to summer even if they apply for fall.

yes, you do have a better chance of admission if you're willing to go in the summer. That's the main advantage.

But there are also other reasons some people want to go in summer. For one thing, the campus is far less crowded - only about 10k students, as opposed to something like 40k in fall. It gives you a chance to get your bearings and get used to the campus and the PSU environment overall without the huge crowds.

Also, if you don't know anyone else on campus, I think it's a bit easier to meet people in summer, when the classes are smaller (especially if you do LEAP).

Can I choose which summer session to attend or do I have to be at PSU for entire summer?

If you are in incoming freshman, you will probably only be able to attend the later summer session. Most high schoolers are still in school when the first session starts (about the middle of May.)

LEAP is the same as regular summer classes, except you're in a pair of classes with the same small group of kids. Plus, they do a lot of activities designed to help you socialize with others from your LEAP group.

In your opinion is LEAP a better choice?

I think LEAP is a good choice. If you search the archives here, the general consensus about LEAP is that it's a good experience. Some kids aren't crazy about the bonding activities, but I think you can skip some of them.

Students who are eager to meet people should also keep an eye out for other opportunities, such as house meetings in their dorm.

Help!

Okay...so this is my first time using this website ever.
But I have a couple questions about Penn State and the summer session.

My dad went there and it's always been my dream school!!
But now that the time has actually come for me to apply...I'm wondering what my chances are of getting in.
Summer session is what I want to do. I want to be up there as soon as possible!

Gpa: 3.5 unweighted
sats: (suck) math: 640 CR: 530 W: 430

That was the first time I ever took them and I'm taking them again on Saturday, but I have no idea what I'm going to get.

As for ec, I do pretty much everything. SGA, yearbook editor in chief, sports (made it to states two years running), marching band

Would I be accepted into summer session?
