I'm applying sometime this week. Please chance me!

I'm a white female.
WGPA: 90.06 (my school sends weighted averages, not sure if that's what they look at?)
SAT: 1650/2400 but pending October SATS (hopefully they're a lot higher)
CR: 590 Math:450 (eek) Writing: 570
Rank: top 50% (my school is annoyingly competitive)

EC's (If it even matters for PSU):
- Co president of Drama club
-President of Peer mediators
-Law club (mock trial team)
-Tour choir (selected choir)
-Students for 60,000 (humanitarian club) - project chairperson
- ALS club - (aids ALS research and funding)
- Spent sophomore, junior, and soon to be senior year spring breaks in Nicaragua building houses etc.
-NYSSMA every year
-SCMEA 9th and 10th grade
-S.A.D.D member- (students against destructive decisions)

-I'm a waitress 10 hrs/wk
-private voice lessons once a week
-danced for 5 years up until 11th grade

good recommendations (hopefully)
From Long Island

11th grade:
-IB Italian
-IB Theatre
-AP Bio
-Honors English

12th:

-IB Italian
-IB Theatre

- i don't know if this counts for anything at all, but I only have one off period every other day, and I am taking two social studies classes

If you checked summer, as long as you can get those sats up to like an 1800 I'd say you're in. Especially since you're out of state.

You're given an option if you'd be interested in starting in the summer if you're not accepted to fall and there's just a little check you check to be eligible for it. I checked it lol

o0o0oh interesting. So that would just basically mean that I'd leave for school early? Aka start school in the summer.. and then continue into fall.. ??

Not U.Park, try Schuylkill or Berks for a year or two.

Dear dorothyyO- My sons stats were close to yours- same GPA- higher sat-closer to 1900 - your ec are better than his -courses a little harder. Hopefully you scored closer on your sat to 1800- Definetely say you will do the summer Leap program. That is what they offered my son. He wasnt happy about having to leave for college 3 days after his high school graduation - but he wanted Penn State UP so much that he went. It was the best choice for him. He earned 6 credits and the friends he made during the summer are who he spends most of his time with now and most of all he is at the campus and school he wanted -PSU. Good Luck- Like my son your stats are borderline- because of the number of applications they are now getting- but give it a shot- and putting down summer will help.

okay so just got october SAT's back:

CR: 580 (down 10)
Math: 560 (up 110)
Writing: 700?! (up..130?!)

so now my combined scores are

out of 1600: 1150
out of 2400: 1850

did this help my chances at all?!
