| I'm not quite sure what is going on next weekend, but I know it was tough finding a hotel. I am doing the Q&A session for the parents at the auditions on Saturday and was quite surprised that hotel availability was like a football weekend. I made my reservations at the Penn Stater, which is an "on campus" (although it's not really on campus) and was able to secure a room by calling their 800 number as opposed to trying to do it on line. Quite often the hotels are showing no rooms, but if you call them, they'll have a room or 2 available. Good luck and I'll see you and any other parents traveling to State College for the auditions this coming weekend. |

| Also, if you ever have trouble on a football weekend or another event, you can try the hotels in Burnham (its about 35-45 minutes literally right off 322 W) or hotels in Milesburg which is only 20 minutes. There is a Holiday Inn in Milesburg. |

| Could anyone give a recommendation for a hotel that near the audition site. How is the Penn Stater? I would like to limit the driving once we are there, so a close hotel near the auditions is what we are after. Any input is greatly appreciated. |

| Hi Mtsmom!
We stayed at the Penn Stater. It is very close to the campus (within a mile) if I recall and was very nice and has ample parking. I would recommend it.

The Nittany Lion Inn is located on campus near the music and theater buildings. You can easily walk to the audition from the hotel. Another option is the Days Inn which is very close to campus and within walking distance of the auditions.

| The hotels I would recommend are:
-The Penn Stater (you have to drive to campus...its only a mile or so away) It is the official Penn State hotel other Nittany Lion Inn. Its very modern and has plenty of parking, like Soozievt said. It also has good restaurants!
-Nittany Lion Inn is the best because it is right on the corner of campus, and absolutely beautiful. Its very cozy and everything is within a short walking distance since it is located right on campus and on the northern side where the auditions are located.
-Atherton Hotel..this is where I stayed when I auditioned! Its right on Atherton Street and almost backed up to campus in town. Its really nice. Any touring company that comes through the big performing venue on campus stays at the Atherton when they come through.
Hope this helps! |

| The Nittany Lion is right there on the corner of the campus....I recall, psucat, when your mom stayed there for your show and we all had "drinks" together at the Nittany afterward. It is a very nice place. My vague recollection is that I had picked the Penn Stater, which is also quite nice and very close to campus, at the time due to the rate being better. But Nittany Lion would be an excellent option, price aside.
I hope you are doing great, psucat, in the city!
My niece is a senior at PSU (not in MT). |

| You're going to love your stay there! The hotel bar is called "Whiskers" and has really good food and drinks...so after your long drive, or a long audition day, definately head there! |
