Deferred

So I was deferred from penn state, and I was wondering how likely it would be for me to get accepted after all the auditions were over. Do deferred people rarely get accepted?

I was also deferred. Does anyone know how many people are deferred/how many are accepted?

My D also deferred. Thought I saw one post where someone knew of 1 acceptance/4 deferrals about a month ago. No acceptances listed on main MT page (2009 Acceptances by College). Therefore, I assume deferred is good and means "seriously being considered" and they're going to look at everyone before making a final decision. Anbody know for sure? Any acceptances from the unifieds or was everyone being considered deferred?

One of my friends (a guy) was accepted from (I think) New York unifieds. but it doesn't seem like very many people have been accepted yet.

My daughter is a soph MT at PSU. Most of the kids are not accepted until after all auditions are completed. A very few get accepted along the way but by and large the majority come off the deferred list because the faculty like to wait until all auditions are over. They meet immediately after the last audition so being deferred is a great way to eventually be accepted. My daughter was at the last audition and got her acceptance the following Tuesday. Kids also have gotten in from the waitlist. Hope this helps.

Yesterday was indeed the last audition. Today the faculty meet to start building their class. Decisions should get mailed out late this week or next (that is how it has been done in the past). PSU usually accepts a class of around 16 and then develops a waitlist to yield a class of 12 to 14. Kids definitely have a good chance to get in off the waitlist - it usually happens every year-as it is done this way to prevent too big a class should all acceptances accept back, which is rare at any school, even the top ones, as some kids get in a couple of top schools, but can only matriculate to one. ;')
