Is PPU considered to give a liberal arts education to those in the BFA MT program?

It is a happy time in our household. My D just received her acceptance letter from Point Park. (and she just auditioned on Friday). I have to admit we have been very impressed with the school. The truth is until we started our search for MT schools we had not heard of PP and we haved lived in the Western PA area on and off for the last 15 years. She still has several more auditions and has not been turned down from any other school where she has auditioned, so she has not made a decision yet, but she is very excited to be accepted to PP.

It is going to be a Happy Christmas in our home.

Congratulations to your daughter! That's great news. No matter what else happens on the other schools, she knows she is going somewhere next year and somewhere she likes! Enjoy celebrating.

Presidential Scholarship

Yes, we also received the Presidential Scholarship letter. Scheduled for interviews on January 20th, but we have a conflict. We have an audition scheduled at another University for the 20th.

That's interesting, my D's is scheduled for the 21st & we have that same conflict. Wonder if we could switch dates? That means they may have even more dates?

I'm not sure if I got in for MT yet. They sent me a letter saying I would find out before April 1st...I also have another audition scheduled that weekend on the 21st, and I'm hoping to find out if I get into the program soon so I'll know what to do about changing my audition..

We just talked to PPU today and they allowed us to change our interview to the 21st. But that was the only option, so we took it. My D has an audition at U of Mich on Friday, then we will drive to Pittsburgh either Friday evening or Saturday morning for the scholarship interview.

Hey I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice. I just convinced my parents to let me apply out of state (I live in Florida and hate it here) So since its so late I'm not completely going to be compared but anyway thats another story. I really always loved point park and I want with such a passion to be a MT major. Problem is I can't dance. Since I can't dance, and I won't be able to attend the live auditions and have to send a videotaped auditions which requires a 2 minute dance solo which would probably consist of me making a fool of myself (lol which I don't mind but ya know...)is it better to apply for just acting and if I get in (and granted if i get enough scholarship money to attend) then audition for MT after the first year? or so...

Thank you to anyone who answers in advance!!!!!

I got my acceptace to the MT program a couple weeks after my audition! Thankfully, I got huge academic/leadership/talent scholarships. Now I just have my other nine auditions yet to do!
