arrogant students

Many Pomona students posting their comments on www.**************.com describe the student body mostly as friendly, ARROGANT. Any comments?

I've actually been surprised at the lack of arrogant students (especially considering how much each student typically has to be proud of) for the most part, people tend to be modest and humble about their achievements, and you may know someone for a long time before it is revealed to you that they have done something truly spectacular.....I guess people have different experiences.

After checking the link, of the four students reviews, three out of four said friendly and APPROACHABLE (not arrogant) and the fourth said nothing

....Am I missing something?

It also seemed like straight A's for friendly students across majors (except CompSci)

Most aren't arrogant, but anytime you are around smart people, some are bound to be arrogant. For example, brassmonkey is an arrogant jerk.

Don't take what **************.com says too seriously. There is all this information that you DO NOT KNOW about those who are posting. Posters do not have to verify they've ever had extensive contact with the school, and those who do not like the school have infinite opportunity to creat many accounts and vote until their viewpoint is reflected on the site. I would recommend TALKING to a current student and express your concerns to them.

Do not confuse self-assuredness/confidence for arrogance. Manifestation of one's intelligence can sometimes be misinterpreted for arrogance--it's all in the eye, and perception, of the beholder.
