| I'm curious. What happened if someone who previously accepted the offer from A school waitlist, later the B school gave the offer from waitlist as well, and he decide to go to the B school?? |

| So I'm just going to assume that when they say Monday is the notification day, they mean thats when they will tell all those who didn't get off. I figure that if they don't call sometime this weekend then...... |

| Remember last year there were posts of people getting off the waitlist in June. According to the NY Times article more waitlisted kids will be offered admission this year. I think that would suggest that things will remain fluid for awhile. |

| Yea I too have heard of people getting pulled off as late as June. Don't get me wrong, I'll wait til the cows come home for Pomona, but it's just been a crazy ordeal having every fiber of your being wrapped up in something. It would just be nice to know sooner than later. Best of luck to everyone though. |

| RBallard - is that really what she said?
There are people on this thread who got in off the waitlist.
If that's true, why would the admissions officer lie? hmm... that's weird... |

| This is the internet--not everything you read here is reliable either... Or the 'someone' in admissions may not have been an AO (it's pretty hard for me to imagine a small LAC AO not knowing whether or not such a decision has been made)... |

| I just emailed the admissions office asking what the heck the hold up is. I figure that they are waiting so long either because the rejection letters are taking a long time to make , or they are having to choose more people off the wait list |

| yea I sent an email yesterday asking about whether or not a decision has been made and i got this lovely generic email
"We are currently evaluating our wait list. Unfortunately, the waiting list does involve a lot of waiting. While we hope to admit students from the waiting list, this is completely dependent on how many students choose to matriculate at Pomona. Admitted students have until May 1 to send their deposits to Pomona. At that point, if there are any spots available in the freshman class, we may admit students from the waitlist. In late May or early June we will contact all waitlisted students regarding their status, and most of the students on the waitlist will be released to pursue college options elsewhere. Please remember to send in the blue waitlist card enclosed in your letter!"
too bad it's the 13th |
