Chance? Interview?

I'm a bit doubtful about getting in to either of these school, but would like to see what you guys think.

GPA: 3.8 (5.45 unweighted)
Rank: top 4% 23/560
SAT: 690m/700v/720w
SAT II: US Hist 760 (Lit: Pending)
Band 4 years - Section leader and Drum Major (which is sort of the head leadership position of band)
Full Orchestra 4 years (ranked 6th in the state)
Other academic clubs, honor societies and community service clubs, blah blah blah you know the deal.

Really excellent essays and recs

I know my stats are pretty low, but I'm pretty sure that SAT scores will improve to 750 or so on each subjecton the next testing.

Also, I was wondering how important are interviews? Because I live out of state and I don't think my family has the money to fly me there for an interview.

What's the other school? And I think you mean 3.8 unweighted and 5.45 weighted. Pomona offers alumni interviews, depending on where you live.

Oh sorry, I guess I didnt make the GPA distinction clear. You're right, 3.8 is unweighted and 5.45 is weighted. And the other school is CMC. I was planning on double posting this on the CMC board but it looks pretty deserted.

Interviews are not required, but if you feel a face-to-face meeting would benefit your application, then by all means schedule an alumni interview if you can. If not, don't sweat it. Lots of students have been accepted without an interview.

Good luck!
