I don't think it's too early to have a thread for those who will be taking the MCAT this spring and applying next summer.
What med schools have added or will be adding new req'ts? This would be good to know ASAP, so that a student could squeeze those new coures into his/her last 3 semesters of undergrad.
Please add tips, advice, insights, warnings....can't have too much info!
If you want, include some basic info about the student. :)
My son is a current junior at state flagship. He has a 4.0. Major is Chemical Engineering and minors are Chem, Bio, and Math. He is near-fluent in Spanish, including medical Spanish and business Spanish.
He'll take the MCAT next spring...I think after his spring break. We have no idea of how he'll do. He's not a super-duper test taker....he spends too much time on each question really thinking about each one, which can be a detriment. He got a 33 on the ACT and a bit higher SAT.
He will take the Kaplan prep class and has Examkrackers.
BTW...how far in advance do you sign up for a particular MCAT test date?
