Premed: Transfer=Bad?

Hi guys, I have what some would call an unusual situation. I attended St. John's University in Queens, New York for a year and did not like it (~3.8 GPA). So I applied to George Washington University, Lehigh, and University at Buffalo for transfers. After being accepted, I realized that the colleges (besides buffalo, which i did not want to go to) were too expensive. Fearing I would have to return to St. John's, I applied to CUNY Queens College which I intend to attend fall 2006.
I was wondering if it would look bad if I transferred after one semester from Queens College to a college away from home so I would not have to commute to school anymore. I really would like to go to a good college that will provide me with a transfer scholarship and the ability to live on my own (to dorm). I was wondering if you guys thought that transferring twice would be a bad idea, and if not, what schools i should look into transferring to. Thanks a lot for your input.

It's strange, and something you'll definitely have to explain in either the personal statement or interviews. But given the fact that you aren't doing it out of academic difficulty does make it less problematic.

It certainly is not what I would have done. Didn't you know how much the other colleges were going to cost? I almost (barely) think it would be better that you skip this year and then go back rather than transfer 2x, but you've made this decision and will need to deal with the consequences and explain yourself. It's just one more hurdle to overcome.

well for one, the requirements are very stupid and impractical to take. secondly, the biology department wasnt very good. Thirdly, I just didn't like the people there.

Since you made your decision, try to get good grades at CUNY Queens and don't take garbage courses like discover NY. If you want premed, start your requirements now, otherwise it would take you several more years to finish. I have known someone who graduated from CUNY Queens and finished medical school, a NY state medical college. If you keep up the good grades, perhaps you don't need to transfer again.
