pre-med classes taken at CC?

In a year, I will complete my BSAD BS degree. My question is can I take required classes for med school at a community college?

Reason I ask this question is because I don't like the environment of my current uni, and would much rather take these classes closer to home.

One of our former posters (a CC student himself) looked into it and told us that he discovered that some medical schools would not accept any prerequisite coursework done at a community college. More important, you can imagine that others are not particularly fond of it. (One other poster, offended at this notion, inadvertently confirmed this on one medical school's website as well.)

i see. another problem i'm running into right now is maximum units allowed for graduation. the UC system only allows a max of 216 units to graduate; if anyone exceeds those units, they would have to petition to the school. I'm pretty sure I will exceed that limit by about 10-15 units. Anyways, is it possible to go to another uni to take these classes? or am i better off taking these classes at my current school?

You could always do a post-baccalaureate curriculum. Maybe other universities will have one-semester study-in's or something like that. Hopefully somebody else will have a better idea of what you can do. Bear in mind that the premedical curriculum is about two years long.

Have you checked to see how hard it is to petition your school? It was easy to petition my school. Technically, I had enough credits to graduate after seven semesters, but I wouldn't have had enough to graduate with any major. It was a simple, one page application form - I wrote my reason for why I should be allowed to stay for an eighth semester, and I was approved in two weeks.
