Hey guys i only have a month left to decide between uc davis and cal poly pomona both majoring in animal science.

I knew i wud have to decide...For all four years in high school but i just couldnt figure out...

I get 12500 cal grant for davis and 7000 for pomona.
There will be more aid for both schools... So the debt left for me is very small in either schools. Almost the same amount....
Cal poly pomona is closer to home but davis is nearly 8hrs away

I knoew i want to go to vet schools either in uc davis or western u (in pomona).... Sigh... Preferably davis..

I havr been thinking about this for all i can remember...


Oh and another thing is that my gf is going to scripps college(in pomona too!) and we dont want to be apart..(yeahh. but this relationship is quite serious ....)

Shes ultimately gonna be vet too in western or davis. (School where we will attend TOGETHER)

So please dont judge for being emotional teens but place yourself in our shoes and i ask. U to giv me an authentic advice... Thank you. It will help me alot

Daivs, has a better vet program by far! If money is not a problem, and if your gf can also attend davis (seeing that you both want to be together) i would assume she should be fine going there.

she did early deci on scripps... btw does anyone know if cal poly pomona classes satisfies all of davis vet school required courses?

My kid and his girlfriend are serious and go to different schools. It works if you concentrate on your education and see each other once a month or so. Scripps is an all women's college so you should not have too much competition.

Go to the school that makes most sense for your future profession. Weigh the relationship carefully. If she is really "the one" and you can't be separated then go to Pomona. Just remember that you will still be on different campuses in different cities (much closer than Davis of course). You may see each other less than you think unless you live together off campus and you both commute. How much debt is she taking on? Scripps is a very expensive LAC. If you are truly planning to get married someday, remember that her debt will become yours too. So, collectively, try to keep the debt down.
