Cool Way of Welcoming New Members

I saw on another forum a good way to welcome new members. I was wondering if people on CC would like to try this idea out.

The way that this other forum welcomed new members was with a thread entitled "Adopt a Newbie." In this thread, an older member agreed to "adopt" a newer member who posted on the thread. Then, the older member helped the newer member become adjusted to the forum, and served as a mentor for the newer member. Once the newer member made a certain amount of posts, he could then adopt a new member, and continue the cycle.

So, what do people on CC think about this? Would you like something like this on CC?

I think maybe for the Prep School forum, it would be nice to have a student who has applied or is attending boarding school to help out someone who's just beginning the process. That's just my opinion, though! I know that when I was applying, it would've been nice to have someone to talk to!

it might be helpful to match up with applying boarding schools and boarding school the older member attends
