No, she did not get off the WL the second time: Andover took none of the WL that year, and, as I remember, had to find space for beds over the summer just to house the admits; the yield was higher than expected.
For those of you who think being a "legacy" gets you a free ride, it certainly doesn't at a school like Andover under most circumstances. And I don't think I would want it any other way. As an alum, I think the application should get extra care in consideration to avoid mistakes, but that the kids should be fully competitive in the admissions process.
