Hotchkiss Class of 2016?

Hey guys! It's March 10th so you know what that means...! I got accepted to Hotchkiss today and I am most definitely going. So just wondering who else is going to be a Prep next fall because I think it would be nice to know some people. Hehe still hasn't sunk completely in that I'm going to be living in CT for the next 4 years...

hi! I got in to Hotchkiss today too and I'm also going to be a part of the class of 2016 next year! I totally get what you mean about living in Connecticut for the next four years... ahhhh!

I know! I'm from North Jersey so it's not too different weather but still... Did you eat the chocolate bar they gave you yet? Lol I was like YUM CHOCOLATE and then I was like wait... I want to save this... So it's still in the folder!

How did you like find out that you got in? Did you check online or wait for the FedEx? Sorry I'm asking so many questions I'm like, so excited.

No it's fine!! I'm actually from California, so it's going to be super different next year haha. I checked online at 6 am and when the thing popped up that said "Congratulations!" I literally freaked out! The package hasn't come yet since I'm kind of far away, but now I'm excited for the chocolate

I was with my friend at the time because she slept over my house and I was too busy trying to read the letter that she realized I got in before I did. I was like "F*** YEAHH!" and then ran around the house. The package is cool, it came by FedEx and at first I was like "Mom Fedex is at the door" and then I was like "OMG IT'S FEDEX".

I was waitlisted but if I get a position I'm definitely going, it's like my dream school.
I got so excited after hearing talk about the package. I live across the pacific and it takes like a week to get mails from America so it would be a long wait before I can find out what's in there.

@592477794, Sorry to hear that you were waitlisted! Hops you get in! It's my dream school too and it's the only one I applied to because of that.
How 'bout you guys? Did you apply to other schools?

Agh! I was accepted into both Hotchkiss and Choate, and I honestly am torn between them. My mom won't let me go to either Revisit Days because "You'll be in D.C., it's too complicated." I'm sooo confused on where to go lol. So *possible* Prep.

was accepted to both Hotchkiss and Taft. I have no clue where to go!! Does anyone have information about the two that would help. Also, what do you wear to revisits. And i noticed people posting about a chocolate bar in the package? I am away from home and so i checked online, what comes in the fedex??

oooo you guys should come to Hotchkiss!!! @ahk250 if you can, you should definitely go to the revisit days for both of the schools to see which one you feel more comfortable at and like more. and sorry, but I don't know what to wear to the revisit day either!!

For Revist day I think I'm going to wear a nice top and a skirt or something, and basically just try to follow the dresscode. I'm excited about Revist day because I already spoke to the coaches of my 3 sports on my tour, but I want to get to chance to see the sailing team train which they will be doing as soon as they are back from spring break.

Does anyone know if it is allowed or appropriate for siblings to come revisit? My brother is 9 and he didn't come for the tour / interview but is kind of interested in seeing where I'm going to live for the next four years...

@Ahk250 There is some a lot of stuff in the package. In mine I got *runs to get package* a flier about revisits, an envelope with tons of contract and financial aid info., a postcard to confirm I will be attending (asked for t-shirt size for some reason...), a "Bearcat Bar" (the chocolate), a schedule of Hotchkiss mailings, a note from the TABs association about not pressuring applicants or something, a letter to my mom about my acceptance, a letter from Mr. Mckenzie to me about my acceptance, a letter to me from Ms. Beare, a flier about the class profile (states and countries represented), a privacy notice, a FAQ sheet, and a school calendar.

Also does anyone know what it means to be a "Hotchkiss Scholar"? My friend got a special letter and certificate about it. Also he got a full scholarship. He did need full financial aid, but it said it was for his "Outstanding admission application". Is this something to be like, proud of? Or is it just because he needed full financial aid and they determined he deserved it?

you guys are like freaks, i applied to 10 schools and i only got an offer from hill, with waitlists from deerfield, hotchkiss, exeter, concord and middlesex. what are my chances for the waitlist?? most of the schools that im waitlisted in are actually the schools that i wanted to go. what should i do?? should i wait??
