Deerfield Academy Discount

I don't think it's commonly known that the prep school the Deerfield Academy (in Massachusetts) provides a 50% tuition discount to in-town residents. Some parents have relocated to the town just to avail themselves of this (non need-based) discount. In addition to the discount, need-based financial aid may be available even to families making over $250,000 a year. It's a wonderful, generous perk but the Academy does NOT mention it on its website. Can't imagine why. If you phone up and ask them, though, they'll confirm. The discount is voted on each year by the Academy's board of trustees but has been in effect for decades.

I believe Western Reserve Academy in Ohio at least used to offer some sort of reduced tuition deal for residents of the town (Hudson?) in which it is located.
