How much financial aid is available for tenth grade applicants?

I know there is FA for ninth grade, but is there any available for tenth grade? If yes, is it a reasonable amount, or virtually none?

I suspect it varies by school but I can say that my son applied for 10th grade and received FA.

Many schools will nearly double the class size, going from Freshman to Sophomore year. So I would expect a proportionate amount of FA for grade 10 as grade 9.

In our experience new 10th graders received as much FA as they needed. The only hindrance to receiving FA as a sophomore would be for returning sophs who had NOT received FA as freshmen. Most schools' policy seems to be that you are either "in or out" of the FA loop from your first year at the school, whatever that first year might be and extenuating circumstances aside.

depends on the school. I'm a new tenth grader at andover, and they were really generous with my FA.
