On our revisit day I think we'll take a better look in the dorm - closets vs. drawers, etc. My son will have to wear a blazer/tie every day so most of his clothes will be the closet kind, but it will be good to know how much space he has to work with. I think we'll bring the clothes down on hangers which I think someone sugested at some point (not sure if it was on this thread or not) if you are driving.

tanyoosha, I bought my daughter a pair of cute North Face boots. They are down-filled nylon with fur trim. Hers are dark brown and match her North Face jacket. They come in black as well. She is very "anti-UGG" and was thrilled when I found these for her.
arling...my son will not wear boots. I sent his old LL Bean boots and he did wear them once or twice to go sledding, but just wore his sneakers to class.

Insurance - The tuition doesn't include student insurance, it's around US$1,200 year. Can my S just keep in our family insurance or he has to keep both ?

Health insurance? Most schools will accept your health insurance. You need to make sure that your coverage will work for your child at boarding school.

They're... okay. I'm thinking of getting just regular rubber boots for the rain and i don't know what to get for the snow...

btw keylyme, do you have a link for North Face boots? I couldn't find them online.

Here's a couple of stores that carry North Face boots. Zappos has free shipping and excellent customer service.
