"Too Social" for Groton?

When I asked my Spanish teacher to write me a recommendation for boarding schools, she asked what schools I'm applying to and I told her Andover, Groton, Taft, and St. Paul's. She told me she thinks I would be perfect for Andover and St. Paul's, she hasn't heard of Taft, and that I am way too social for Groton. She said the kids are extremely intense. Is this true? I want to go to boarding school and learn a lot, but having fun is important to. It's probably just a rumor, but I was wondering what your opinions are about this. I'm still applying because I know it's a great school, and I haven't visited so I don't have much to go off of. thanks

She sounds like a good source, and a real expert on the subject.

Except for never having heard of Taft.

And the "too social for Groton" part.

Other than that...

She probably relies on Bunkel for her info.

Jonathan1, you'll just have to see for yourself during the revisits.

Personally, Groton has probably the friendliest atmosphere. My tour guide was the best, funniest, and most sociable I ever had. I could tell that groton was a great school, better then i ever expected. Everyone at groton was sociable. Actually, most were better then the other schools because when i went to the dinning hall, a group of kids called me over to sit with them and had a great chat with them.

PS. I'm probably biased because i had the best time visiting groton.

I am sure you won't be too social for Groton... I know someone who goes there and shes a very bubbly, funny, social girl. Don't worry about what your teacher says though, it is your decision.
