I've started this thread for people to put down their dorm room decorating ideas, dreams and schemes. I thought it would be cool if people could ask questions about dorms, and perhaps people who have been to boarding school could answer. Anything related to dorm rooms can be posted here- please no mean posts!

I've always thought those bed risers (which, coincidentally or not, are being advertised by Macy's for $17.00 on the sidebar to the left of this thread but which you can get at the Christmas Tree Shops for $4.99) are a great idea.

They raise your bed up 4 inches or so in order to make stowing stuff under there easier. Of course, each time I suggested to the SmilePups that these might a good thing to have, they looked at me like I was from Mars, but, hey...I can still try to convince you guys that they're useful, right?

Also, an over-the-closet-door hook bar is essential. It will be the only place in your dorm room to hang your wet towel(s) after a shower.

These things don't really fall into the category of "decorations" but, whatever.

bed, bath and beyond also has risers, plus the over the closet bars, etc.
