How are my SSAT score and are they good enough for Andover?

My SSAT scores are as the following:
Math-93%
Verbal-96%
Reading Comp.-65%
Total-92nd Percentile

The reason I'm asking this question is because although I did good on Math and Verbal, I did horrible in Reading, so do I need to retake this or should I send this SSAT score to Andover?

I believe that they look at the total score. The average for Andover this past year was 94% total. So you are in the ball park. I would not sweat it. SSATs are not that big a deal in the overall picture, from what I understand. I don't think one low score will hurt you that much, if at all.

Thank you harrison but is it worth it to retake it to see if I can get a higher grade or should I just focus on the applications?

They are looking for "well-round" student.
I had 99% but got wait-listed.
My friend got 89% and she's in.
Test score is just part of the whole thing.
If you have confidence to get a higher score, then re-take it, otherwise, don't waste your time and money.
You are fine !

What about 2 low scores?

I think i got 60-75% on reading and verbal and 90-99 on math

if you have the financial means, retake it.

if you don't, don't worry about it, it doesn't make that big of a difference. there was someone from this forum who got into exeter, i think last year, with 2 scores in the nineties and like, 45 in math. SSATs don't count for too much, just make sure your grades are good and that your essays rock.. good luck!

"44Snirp44" - You're an excellent student, obviously, but your test-scores are definitely low for the top-tier schools you're applying to. Unless English was not your native language, or you have an exceptional athletic talent, you should probably add one or two less-selective schools to your list. There are plenty of other excellent prep schools out there. Are you willing to consider an all-girls school? Are you willing to venture outside of New England? Given your otherwise-outstanding credentials, your test scores won't necessarily disqualify you from any, or even all, of those schools, but the competition is very stiff. Think about Kent, Emma Willard, Millbrook, Miss Porter's, Portsmouth Abbey, Brooks, Concord, Westminster, George, Blair, et al.

Yep, second the above opinions. Especially if your first choice is Andover. I was rejected from Andover last year with a 98% overall, with 99% math, 94% verbal, and 96% reading.
