What do u know about Miss Porter's School!!!

I have an interview to get into Miss Porter's School, but it won't be at the school. I was just wondering if someone knows something( BAD OR GOOD) about this school. Expect for the fact that it is an ALL GIRLS school.

My daughter just graduated. She had a great 4 years at Porter's. It is a wonderful community. Good luck with your interview.

Miss Porter's is close enough to the boys at Avon Old Farms--but not too close! it's a great school from all accounts.

I don't have personal knowledge about Miss Porter's, but read an interesting article in Vanity Fair about the school early this summer. Might be worth reading . . .

ELY: My mother also read that article! She won't let me apply there because of it!

I don't think it is fair to make judgments based on one article. There are some very satisfied Miss Porter's parents on this board. I recommend a search on the forum and some more research. Good luck!

No, I'm not saying it is a "bad School". I just think reading the article gives you insight into the culture & traditions of the school. Yes, many are happy there; just think that informing yourself helps ensure you're a good fit. Does that make sense?

@ELY- It makes sense...And I really appreciated it. At least MPS is not my top choices.

While the article was well written, I found it had many untruths.

That article is certainly entertaining, but everything I have heard from my sister, mother, cousins, aunts, and friends who, unlike the author, have actually graduated from the school make it seem sensationalistic and uninformed. It's a warm, friendly, intellectual place.

What i know about Miss Porters is that i reeealllly wanna go there. Lol, i read up on the traditions a bit, but from all of the reviews from the graduates that i've read, its those traditions that make MPS such a great place. I dont know about this article, but i'm still applying. :-)
