Wow, I must be one of the only ones who was open and honest with everyone since before I was accepted. I knew that there was a very real possibility that I wouldn't be but that didn't stop me from telling important people (and anyone who would ask).

I told my friends since before i even started applying and they were happy. They said that they would miss me, though and that they would HAVE to visit me.

When I went on visits I just said, "hey guys I'm going to _______ today and You have to stay in school. HAHAHA! You mad."

People Used to ask me all the time if I was applying, where I was applying, if I got accepted, and where I was going. I never really felt the need to lie or keep it a secret. I just would say, "hey, y'all! I'm doing _______"

My teachers were very encouraging and even asked me if I could get them a school sweatshirt (I did).

It honestly depends on you. I mean if I weren't accepted yeah it'd have been SUPER embarrassing but I just don't let that stuff faze me. If I get accepted, great. If I don't, cool, another year with my friends.

I didn't tell anyone until I knew whether I was accepted or not. I live in an area where applying to boarding schools is different, and I was worried that my friends wouldn't understand. I have told my friends, and they are fine with it, the only difference is that we won't see each other as much next year.

My friends didn't know until a month or two after I was accepted... and I have less the 10 days of school and the word still hasn't spread to everyone. Totally awkward... Don't make a big deal about it, but tell them before it's too late.

My friends are throwing me a huge going-away party at the end of the summer. They think it's a surprise(;

I was (unofficially) voted girl-who-is-going-to-be-most-missed by my grade. I'm really worried about leaving my friends and having to make new ones...

I told my friends from the beginning, how my interviews went, how was the application process... They didn't treat me like "whats wrong with you?", they were really supportive and my teachers said " I'm sad that you're leaving but glad that you're reaching your dream". Friends will always be friends, they will help you get through rough admission processes and celebrate what you have accomplished later

I'm on the cliff of graduating middle school, and have told my friends. They were like, "Okay. Sure. Wait, what did he say in Spanish class today?" Not the most supportive reply, eh? Then again, our network of friendships has been experiencing quite a bit of turbulence recently.

I've also told a couple of my classmates who are applying as well. I swear, this year, there are seven applying in my class, and three of them are well-groomed for the job-strong ECs, stellar transcript, deep enough pockets...it's a competition for us, and I can't keep up. *sigh* Aw well!

I feel terrible about this, but I told all my friends that I'm applying, but that I won't attend if I get accepted. This is going to cause a few awkward moments if I get accepted anywhere one March 10th comes around...
