Taft is a favorite from our school this year, for ninth, ninth repeats and tenth grade applicants. Many row crew. I know of at least 15 who applied.

hey bud.
I went to Taft and hated it most of the time.
There are a few types of kids at Taft. I'd say 30% love it. 60% hate it but stay for some reason (sports for me) the "just stick it out attitude" or family ties to the school. Then the other 10% hate it and dont come back or get kicked out.

I would not go to Taft if I were you. I'd look at Deerfield or Choate

However the work load did prep me for college and I got into a pretty good school after three years of being miserable.

yankkesarebad - you sound like you're projecting your own personal shortcomings and views on a lot of other people.

@yankees: Your older posts show you were accepted to Taft just 2 years ago. What's up with this "3 years of being miserable?"

Nothing against you, but care to explain in details _why_ it was not such a good experience for you? What exactly about Taft that you disliked (sports seem minor)?

I'd actually have to agree with yankeesarebad. It is pretty common to not like Taft, but I'm not sure how much of it is just due to thinking that the grass is always greener on the other side. At the end of the day, it is still school.
