What are you readying?

I'm always looking for new books to read. I think it would be interesting to see what you guys like. I just finished "A Time to Kill" by John Grisham and I loved it.

Try reading the Percy Jackson Series if you haven't. I used to be so obsessed with it.

I am reading Milton Friedman's, Road to Serfdom. It's a political/economics book, this is the genre I enjoy the most. A good political read is Machiavelli's Prince.

As for fiction, some of the books I've read in the past year or so are:
Out of the Shadows by Jason Wallace - probably not the best to read before heading off to boarding school.
Go Ask Alice - diary of a girl in the 1970s, focused on her drug usage.
To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee - about a lawyer defending a black man before there were equal rights.
Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger - about a rebellious teen who leaves boarding school.
Song of Fire and Ice by George RR Martin - this is the book that the first season of Game of Thrones portrayed.
Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally - about a girl quarterback.
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen - I love this. It's an old book set in England which is such an interesting cultural time to me. It's about dating and cultural stratification, with great characters and plot.

The Gone series. They're quite popular, but more grim and gritty than your average YA lit. Quite the page turners...

Oh, and @Forever58: actually, Go Ask Alice isn't a real diary. It became discovered years later that it was fake.

Forever, I love most of those books. Catcher in the rye and game of thrones are my favorites. Have you ever read Kafka?

Plus, I completely adore Catcher in the Rye! AND people, read Water for Elephants!

Outliers by Malcom Gladwell is amazing! Finished that during the application process and actually mentioned a little bit in my essays. It's good to have knowledge like that.
