chances of getting into Exeter/Hotchkiss/Deerfield?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me determine my odds of getting into Exeter, Andover, Hotchkiss, Deerfield, etc.

I just completed the 7th grade and my overall grades for each subject are as follows:

English: B*
Art: pass
French: B+
History: B+
Math: A-
Science: A-
Strings: B (I play the cello)

My grades were all lowered because of my procrastination and lack of turning assignments in on time...
Extra information: I've been a Youth Ambassador for a non-profit organization for the past 2 years (it helps raise money for clean water and facilities in Africa), I'm very good at lacrosse, I'm an avid reader, and I sing and act on stage outside of school.

Please help! I feel like my grades significantly lowered my chances of getting into any of the above schools.

Forgot to mention: My family is from Eritrea (East African country), I'm very outgoing and can make friends easily (my teachers noted this in my report card). I'm popular (not in a bragging way) and people generally like me. I'm applying for financial aid and I currently go to an elite private school in the DC area.

*I'm actually a very good writer, but my time management issues lowered my grade

Also forgot to add: The A- in math was for an Accelerated Math class

Thank you so much!

Generally, I think you have a pretty good chance. Just make sure to raise those grades and take the most rigorous classes you can take, as competitive prep schools like the ones you're applying to expect you to be well prepared to handle the heavy workload. Also, work on your procrastination skills, as those will not help you if you get accepted into any of the schools you're applying to. But overall, I think if you focus more on your grades and find something you're really passionate about to help with interviews and your essays, you have a good chance. And also, make sure those good writing skills shine through in your essays. Best of luck @booksandlax!

Do you hold a leadership position in Student Council? It would look more impressive if you were president than if you were just a member.

I ran for Vice President this year and lost, but I'm running for President next year. Only 7th graders can run for Vice President and only 8th graders can run for President.

In that case, I hope you get the position! I was in your place a few months ago, so I know how stressful the whole application process can be. Just take deep breathes. (:
