You have a chance....but you might unfortunately be lost in the applicant pool. For a lot of people, the essay portion allows them to stand out, but you say you didn't do well on it.

I haven't gotten a phone call from Deerfield, does this mean there not interested? They said they would call if they had any questions about me. Ahh!

I know it's essential. I was wondering though about how they said they would call me if they had any questions. Today is the 2nd of march and they haven't called. I'm wondering if I won't get in because they haven't bothered to call me to ask questions.

@ mandy: do you live near Deerfield? Or probably not more than a 5 hour drive?
If yes, and if you are really determined in getting in, GO. Ask your parents to drive you. It's crazy, I know; but since it's crazy, it will definitely make you outstanding, courage and craziness wise.
If no, take the initiative to call DA first. M10 is approaching, and adcoms are very busy. Eventhough they probably lay you off, they will know that you are really interested. And perhaps give you a spot as a late applicant lol.

MonochromeAddict: I don't have any connections to the school at all.
jyun212: I live about 3 hours and 45 minutes away but it would be impossible to go there because my mom works so much, from 8 to 6:30, and so there would be no one to drive me. I'm not sure about your idea to call them, I mean they might just get annoyed. What do you mean by lay me off? I submitted my application on time so I don't see how I would be a lat applicant.
Thanks.

Only 5 more days! Ahh! I can barely do anything but be anxious and wonder if I'm going to get in. Anyone else feeling like this?

Hey there!
please evaluate my chances of getting into Deerfield!
I'm from Asia, I speak fluent english, it's my main language ever since I was born.
I am in the top Girls' school in my country, I have been also accepted into the triple science (that means i take about 8 subjects a term. together with bio, chem and physics all at the same time) course in my school which is a very hard and accelerated course as well.
Grades: All A's, occasional B's.
SSAT scores: 96%
Interview: went great, she liked me, was very impressed.
Essays: great! my counselor said that it was the best he's seen in a long time.
Extra curricular activities:
community service (peer tutoring, helping out at the animal shelter) - 2 years
dance (school team) - 9 years
music (piano) (grade 7 trinity music college certificate) - 8 years
swimming (local Gold award) - 9 years
School government/council - activity coordinator - 2 years
that's all! please PLEASE reply! thanks all
