I have seen some schools offer language test to see where to place the student in a language course. If you already fluent in the language, should you submit the test with the application or only after acceptance?
Even if you were to submit test scores with the application, the school will want to administer its own test to new students. If you're an international applicant from a non-English speaking country, I believe the school will need the TOEFL with your application.
If you are already fluent in a second language, why not start in a new language? For example, if you are Canadian, and fluent in English and French, why not try Latin or Spanish?
Agree with Periwinkle. And unless you are trying to prove your English fluency for an English speaking school, you do not need to submit tests in proficiency with your application.
I though it might add to her admission packet for them to see that she can write in two languages aside from English. She won't be needing to take the TOEFL as she took the SSAT and is now attending an English speaking school.
Thanks. We won't be submitting the test. It sounds like it would be overkill.
