Choosing a Freshman Seminar: interest vs. degree requirement

Do you guys think it's better to apply for a seminar that is of interest to me, or for one that I am not too interested about but helps me get rid of one of my degree requirements?

I am a big math/science person, so I want to take a freshman semiar in one of those areas, but then I am also thinking that taking a history-related freshman seminar would help me get rid of it forever from my college experience.

Degree requirement; that's what I'm going to do. Much more painless than doing a non-freshman seminar which will more formal and more "rigorous" (if you can call humanities that :-) )

I'm also a math/science person, and I applied for Woodrow Wilson and the Battle of Princeton to get the HA requirement out of the way.

What about taking something like The History of Math/Science, if available, so you never have to take a loathsome course?

I did History of Europe HL in IB and got a 7. Does that fulfill my HA requirement for AB?

No. You can't use AP's or IB's to fulfill distribution requirements except foreign language.

Agreed - degree requirement is they way to go. The freshman seminars are usually light and fun, and thus a great way to get rid of (and - gasp - enjoy) subjects you may not like much at the start.
